![]() I’ve learned about Islam that is religious. After I read some article, I think I’ve learned more about Islam. Islam is a group of religious Abraham. Islam means “surrender; submission”. People follow Islam practices Islam or the act of submission to Allah.The Qu’ran is the holy book of revelations. Revelations are grouped together in Suras. Muhammad, the Prophet, received revelations in 610 from the Angel Gabriel; he received revelations in both Mecca and Medina. For the followers, Muhammad was the last God who revealed Allah's Quran (also known as the Koran) through the Angel of Jibrael. Muslim have five pillars: Shahada: Profession of Faith (Muhammad is the prophet of Allah) Salat: Prayer Five Times A Day Zakah: Charity Sawm: Fasting (Ramadan) The Hajj: Pilgrimage to Mecca The Islamic world combines many architectural styles, but the two main styles of the mosque. The first is the congregational mosque, known as the Jami masjid. It is built on a large scale to accommodate the entire Islamic community of a town or city. The second type is known simply as the masjid . Masjids are small community mosques used daily by members of a quarter, or an ethnic group within a city. That are prayer room with the roof on the arch and the roof supported by the pillars. Some other features: arch tip; mosaic; decorative stone; window curtain. The purpose of the mosque is providing a central space for the Islamic community to unite, pray, and exchange information. The impressive beauty of the mosque elaborate decoration that is extremely delicate and magnificent. The walls are paved with ancient stone, dome decorated periodically. Comprehensive geometric paintings, niches painted with colors attract attention. That is the work represents the utopian creation of mind and human hands. The Prophet Muhammad’s house was the first constructed mosque. Mihrab: where prayer space has a niche, called the mihrab, made the sign of the direction of Mecca. Therefore, the Mihrab is the point where the believers come in when praying. The Imam standing on the side of Mihrab led the prayer. Mihrab is very simple, but many Mihrabs are beautifully decorated. The prayer space must be designed so that all the followers of the place will see Mihrab. Minaret: Towers. Prophet Muhammad had a dream in which He heard the call to prayer. So Muhammad instructed one of the followers to call people to pray at the appointed hours of the day. The man who called people to the ceremony was named muezzin (bilal). The mosques built a special minaret where the muezzins would pray for believers. The content of the call (azan) that muezzin calls to call people to pray is Great Allah, there is no God outside Allah, Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah, come to pray, come to work. Good deeds, Allah the Great, no gods besides Allah. Qibla: The direction that all Muslims turn to in prayer is called Qibla. During the first two years of the Muslim community, Jerusalem was Qibla. By 624, Qibla was Mecca. Minbar: “pulpit” from which the Imam. It is A podium where the Khatib stands at a Friday afternoon noon (Jumat). Usually, the minbar is designed to be three or more levels, but the Khatib never stands on the top level to preach because it is reserved for the Rasul The mosque is an architectural combination of art, science, and math.
